archaea nemzetség
A Methanococcus a Methanococcaceae családba tartozó Archaea nem. Az archeák – ősbaktériumok – egysejtű, sejtmag nélküli prokarióta szervezetek.[1] A nem tagjai gömbölyű, metanogén, mezofil szervezetek.
