A Wikimédia Commons tartalmaz Euryarchaeota témájú kategóriát.

Közéjük tartoznak a metanogének, melyek metánt termelnek és gyakran a bélflóra részét képezik, a halobaktériumok, melyek extrém sókoncentráció elviselésére képesek és néhány rendkívül termofil aerob, illetve anaerob élőlény. A többi archeától leginkább riboszomális RNS-szekvenciák alapján különböztetik meg őket.

Törzsfejlődés szerkesztés

A jelenleg elfogadott rendszertan a List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) listán[5] és az National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) adatbázisán[6] alapul, a leszármazási fát a 'The All-Species Living Tree' Project[7] 16S rRNA-alapú LTP release 111-e alapján állították össze.
