::(If I understand your words correctly, [[User:Tgr|Tgr]], yes, your interpretation is correct. There are at least a couple of things which can be made to tackle this at least partially, and they mean providing clear information about it to the editor. I know of at least one Wikipedia which took user education about this very seriously, and put a reminder for everyone in their sitenotice for a while :) The main tip is making sure that after applying a link, you get out of the "blue area" before typing again (using the mouse is the best way to do so, because it usually means you'll add the necessary space, otherwise a combination of Right arrow + Space key will work as well). It also helps to get used to writing first, and adding links later (this allows to take full advantage of something that is usually not so recognized, that is, the fact that the visual editor actually allows to focus on your writing, on words rather than on bits of code). For existing links where I would like to change the label... right now I just delete the word and write what I meant from scratch; I would feel like I'm wasting my time if I did otherwise.
