Brie Larson filmrendezőként is kipróbálta magát, két kisfilm társrendezését követően 2017-ben elkészítette az ''Unicorn Store'' című munkáját. Emellett lelkes egyenjogúsági és erőszakellenes aktivista, aki gyakran ad hangot társadalmi és politikai véleményének.
