'''Nesmin''' (''ns-mnw,'' "Belonging to Min") was an ancient Egyptian priest from Akhmim, who lived during the end of the Late period or the first third of the Ptolemaic period. His mummy is now part of the Egyptian collection of the National Museum of Serbia, thus it is also known as the "Belgrade mummy".

==Life==
Nesmin's father, Wennefer, his mother Chay-Hathor-Immu, and his paternal grandfather Djedhor are mentioned on his coffin. Further family members are identified on a limestone stela of his nephew, also called Nesmin; the stela is now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (CG 22053). The owner of the stela mentions his father Djedhor and his grandparents Wennefer and Chay-Hathor-Immu; the latter name is very rare, which seems to confirm that Nesmin the Belgrade mummy and Nesmin, the owner of the stela are from the same family. Nesmin, his grandfather, father, brother and nephew all held the title "sm3", stolist, which means they were priests responsible for clothing the god's statue. His mother was the sistrum-player of Min. The stela was found in Akhmim, the cult centre of Min, which makes it likely that the Belgrade coffin and mummy were also found there.<ref>Andelkovic & Teeter, pp.317-318</ref>

==The mummy==
The mummy was purchased by Pavle Ridicki in Luxor, in 1888. It was donated to the National Museum and was exhibited in August 1888. An 1993 examination found the mummy in a damaged state. The examinations confirmed the mummy's gender, and helped to estimate his age at death, and his height (ca. 165 cm). Nesmin was buried in a wooden mummiform coffin, his body was ornamented with several amulets and covered by cartonnage decorated with mortuary deities. A papyrus roll found with the body contained spells from the Book of the Dead.
