<!-- Joey Bishop, (Joseph Abraham Gottlieb), American comedian (born Feb. 3, 1918, New York, N.Y.—died Oct. 17, 2007, Newport Beach, Calif.), was the last surviving member of the Hollywood clique (dubbed the Rat Pack) that included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Peter Lawford. Bishop was remembered for his deadpan comic delivery and for his skill at ad-libbing; he was also credited with writing much of the material when the group headlined together at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas. He appeared with the Rat Pack in the films Ocean’s Eleven (1960) and Sergeants Three (1962). He starred (1961–65) in a television sitcom, The Joey Bishop Show, and appeared regularly on late-night television talk shows. He also hosted (1967–69) his own talk show, The Joey Bishop Show. -->
