Február 1-énjén a török támogatást élvező felkelők két falut elfoglaltakfoglaltak el al-Babtól délnyugatra, ezzel egy újabb helyen vágták el az [[Aleppó]]ból al-Babba vezető útvonalat, és így a várostól mindössze 7 km-re meg tudták állítani az előretörő szíriai seregeket, mindössze 7 km-re a várostól.
