Franciaországban még a forradalom korában is a lakósság tekintélyes része, valószínűleg több, mint a fele, nem értett franciául, és ez problémája is volt a francia hadseregnek. (Van erre utalásom is, ha a nagyvilág elé kell vinnem). De a franciák el tudták hitetni a világgal, hogy Franciaország a francia nyelv országa, szerintem (ha ezt nem veszi senki fellengzésnek) a magyaroknak is hasonlóra kellene törekednietörekedniük. Ezt azért hangsúlyozom, mert ezt olvasom a "Kingdom of Hungary" cikkben: "Magyars tend to emphasise the continuity of the Hungarian state and consider the Kingdom of Hungary one phase of its historical development. The idea of continuity is reflected in national symbols and holidays and in the official commemoration of the millennium of the Hungarian statehood in 2000. According to their point of view the Kingdom of Hungary was primarily a country of the Magyar people not denying the presence and importance of other nationalities." Képzeljük el, ha valaki ennek megfelelő dolgot írna Franciaországról: "The French tend to emphasise the continuity of the French state and consider the Kingdom of France one phase of its historical development. The idea of continuity is reflected in national symbols and holidays and in the official commemoration in 1987 of the 1000th anniversary of the establishment of the Capetian dynasty. According to ''their'' point of view the Kingdom of France was primarily a country of the French people, not denying the presence and importance of other nationalities."
